Hi all, hopefully you're all enjoying the week off to recharge your batteries and will be raring to go in the four weeks ahead until the summer break.Now could be a time for winding down but instead this should be the busiest time of the year both for staff and students. This time is crucial for your whole future. Why?
If you are leaving us soon, the grade you take away is your own snapshot of you as a person. This shows what level you can push yourself to. If you leave us with distinctions then you have shown you are capable of the highest grade possible. If all we see are passes then it may give the impression you are happy with the bare minimum.
Any future employer will take this into consideration.
If you are staying on for a further year at grade 3 then every unit counts towards your final grade. It is easier now to go into the second year with a foundation of high grades than taking the 'i'll do it later' attitude. If you can't be bothered to try now then you are unlikely to ever be bothered, trust me.
If you are coming up from level 2 then don't forget, we are looking for more than just a pass to get you up to the next level.
